Where did Celtic style Pewter Designs come from?

Celtic designs have evolved and survived from ancient times. The Celts were tribes bound together by similar language, customs, and religion during the Iron and Medieval Ages. These tribal groups spanned a region that now includes Ireland, Scotland, Wales and northern France.

Celtic art uses unique spiritual designs which still resonate today. Celtic symbolism explains how the Celtic peoples felt about the universe, life, death and the result of the changing seasons, so important to people who lived off the land. Their symbolism reflects the human spirit, the ambitions and desires, aspirations and fears.

The Meaning of Celtic Crosses in Tin Woodsman Measuring Spoons

Celtic crosses predate Christianity and symbolize the bridge to the “other world” or “worlds” and also to higher energy and knowledge. This is shown by the vertical axis which represents the celestial world, and the horizontal axis that symbolizes Earthly world.

Celtic Crosses are also considered solar symbols and the source of light and ultimate energy. The first Celtic crosses had four equal points representing the four directions (north, south, east and west), and the four elements (earth. air, fire and water) and were enclosed by a circle that represented the sun.
